JORGE GUAJARDO

Jorge Guajardo is a sought-after advisor on Global Risk and a former ambassador to China. Ambassador Guajardo is a trusted advisor to companies at the C-suite level, providing strategic guidance on risk, cyber security, market disruptions, barriers to market entry, government relations, and strategic communication in China, Latin America, and Europe. His tenure as Mexico’s ambassador to China, spanning six years, was marked by numerous achievements, including leading negotiations for trade agreements between the two countries.

As the Aspen Institute Global Cyber Security Group co-chair, Ambassador Guajardo is at the forefront of global cybersecurity discussions. He is a sought-after lecturer and panelist at major forums, sharing his insights on China, Mexico, supply chains, and forecasting areas of concern for global corporations. Earlier in his career, Ambassador Guajardo served as Consul General of Mexico in Austin, Texas, where he worked on labor, policing, and financial services at the Mexico/US border. He was recognized by the Austin City Council, which named him an honorary Austinite and gave him the keys to the city. He has a B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He is also an Instrument-rated pilot and enjoys flying with his son.
