JAYA BALOO

Jaya Baloo is recognized within the list of top 100 CISOs globally and ranks among the top 100 security influencers worldwide. She is an expert in cybersecurity and quantum readiness, currently serving as a contributing Expert in Quantum and Cybersecurity for the World Economic Forum, and as an advisor to Europol (EC3).

Before becoming Chief Security Officer (CSO) at Rapid7, Baloo was CISO at Avast, and prior to that she held the CISO position at KPN, the largest telecommunications carrier in the Netherlands. She has also been a faculty member of Singularity University since 2017, where she regularly lectures.

In 2022, Baloo received an honorary doctorate from the University of Twente for her inspiring leadership and significant contributions to technological advancement in the field of cybersecurity. Baloo sits on the advisory boards of the NL’s National Cyber Security Centre, PQCrypto, and Yubico. She serves on the audit committee of TIIN capital, a cybersecurity fund, and is also a board member of the Cyber Threat Alliance (CTA) as well as the RvT of the Dutch Broadcasting station, the NOS.
